CHILD DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE 1 (CDA1) (OS)
Technical Certificate of Credit
The Child Development Associate 1 Technical Certificate is designed
to meet the training needs for CDA certification for the person who has
already accrued at least 480 clock hours experience in working with
children in an early childhood program within the past five years. It
also provides the minimum formal training in early childhood and education
competencies, knowledge, skills, and techniques required to apply for a
CDA credential from the Council of Early Childhood Recognition in
Washington, DC. This certificate program meets the 120 contact hours of
training required for the Child Development Associate (CDA). The CDA
credential is awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional
Recognition. The Council operates the Child Development Associate
Credentialing Program as a major effort to improve the quality of child
care and early education.
