How can I become an online
student at CGTC?
The first step is to be accepted at CGTC.

How do I start my courses?
 Effective Summer Quarter 2008 the Blackboard online course system will be replaced by the ANGEL online course system.
ANGEL is a Web-based course management and collaboration portal that enables educators to manage course materials and to communicate with students. Once you enter your username and password, you will go directly to your own course homepage.
The username and password for ANGEL is:
schoolcode_studentid
The school code for CGTC is 35 and your student id is the number printed on your ID card. You will NOT be able to use your social security number.
For example, if your school is Central Georgia Technical College and your student id is 910199999, your username would be 35_910199999 and your password would be 35_910199999.

Your course content is available the first day of the quarter. However, if you register for a course during drop/add, please allow 24 hours for you to be entered into ANGEL for that course. If you do not have access to ANGEL after one day, please contact the instructor of the class or use the Online Course Problem Reporter.
How do I email my instructor?
All online students will be provided student email accounts. Please allow 24 hours for creation of your student email account. Because every email address is different, you will need to click on the link under "Do I have a CGTC student email account?" on the email information page to find out your CGTC student email address user name. This will prompt you for your BannerWeb ID and PIN to verify your identify, and then provide you with your CGTC student email information.

Online students are entitled to all student
services. Visit the
Student Affairs homepage for more information on particular
services.
What are the hardware
and software requirements?
To take full advantage of the interactivity
of the courses, the following setup is recommended:
- Windows NT, 98, 2000, or XP operating system
- PC with 300+ Mhz Pentium II or compatible processor
- 96 MB of available RAM (128 MB recommended)
- 275 MB of available disk space
- 4X speed CD-ROM
- SVGA Graphics (800x600/256-color with 16-bit colors or higher)
- Sound card and speakers
- Printer
- An Internet connection through a commercial
Internet Service Provider.

Can I use the library
online? Is tutoring available?
Please visit the library's
home page. Tutoring is available to all CGTC students at the Academic Success Center.
Will I ever have to attend
classes on campus?
Some classes will require at least one proctored
exam, but it varies from course to course.
