Supporting Adult Education Program
Stories of Success and Support
So many students struggle to sustain their commitment to personal growth; many are working multiple jobs and raising a young family. Your support could make the difference.
Time
Volunteers are critical to our student's success. Please review the Volunteer section of our site to find out how you can become a volunteer.
Volunteer
Community Labs
Community computer labs need volunteers to facilitate the lab. Two hour shifts can be arranged to allow students in the neighborhood to have access to online resources.
Community Advocacy
Another way to give of your time would be to serve as an advocate for Adult Education where you work, your civic groups affiliations or in your place of worship. If you would like to promote support for the Adult Education Program, please contact us and we will be glad to work with you to promote the program.
If you would like to share your experience, strength and hope, our instructors or staff will work with you to schedule a time and place for you to speak to a class or group. We love success stories; and our students do too.
Financial
GED Scholarships
The GED Diploma Test costs $95 ($19 for each of the five sections). For many students, this cost is prohibitive. Contributions to the Central Georgia Technical College Foundation can be designated for test scholarships. Instructors nominate students that have demonstrated academic readiness yet have challenges that prevent them from paying for the test.
Book Scholarships
Books are provided for in classroom use only. Many students would benefit from having their own workbooks to supplement the learning experience outside of class. A $50 scholarship will allow students that qualify to have their own a set of books. It can make a huge difference for students that struggle with transportation and childcare issues.
In Kind Contributions
In kind contributions are also welcome. Office supplies, notebooks, paper, refreshments, pens and pencils are just some of the items that would be appreciated by Adult Education Program students.
CGTC Foundation
Please donate through our Central Georgia Technical College Foundation.
