CGTC will reach out to students during their high school, middle school, and earlier education to enhance awareness of technical education and to encourage academic achievement. Students, parents, and guidance counselors will recognize and acknowledge CGTC as a preferred postsecondary choice. The College will continue to offer web-based programs and services. The College will enhance its marketability by investing in communications and other public relations/marketing activities that lead to increased participation in CGTC programs and services. Goal 2. Benefit service-area workforce development by increasing community awareness of and participation in CGTC's educational programs and services. Expected Results Technical Program Enrollment – Each year, from FY 2009 through FY 2014, unduplicated credit program enrollment will increase by at least two percent (2%) annually.** Adult Education Enrollment – By FY 2014, adult education enrollment will reach at least 3,000 annually.* Continuing Education Enrollment – By FY 2014, annual participation in continuing education will reach at least 5,000 enrollments.** HOPE and Pell Recipients – Each year, from FY 2009 through FY 2014, at least eighty percent (80%) of CGTC technical program students will receive financial aid from the HOPE program and/or Pell grants, and 100% of eligible students who seek financial aid will receive assistance.** Online Enrollment – By FY 2014, annual CGTC online enrollment will be at least twenty percent (20%) greater than the FY 2008 online enrollment. ** G2. Objective 1. Community Awareness Continue to improve marketing and public relations through responsiveness to varied constituent needs and corresponding market and product segmentation. G2. Objective 2. Education about Technical Colleges Educate the community, especially potential students and parents of potential students, about the advantages offered by technical colleges and help the public realize that technical college programs are an excellent career development choice – a preferred option. G2. Objective 3. Student/Customer Recruitment Focus recruitment efforts on early-grade, middle school, and high school students; employees in targeted industries; and adults who want to return to school, such as recent retirees, recently released military, and military spouses. G2. Objective 4. Financial Support Increase awareness of student financial aid (HOPE, Pell, and scholarships) as well as employer financial incentives (training tax credit, etc.). G2. Objective 5. Counseling and Advisement Establish an integrated one-stop advisement and assessment process for student career counseling. G2. Objective 6. Educational Assistance and Awareness Raising for Youth Engage in broad-based projects to assist elementary, middle, and high school students to succeed in education and offer summer mini-quarters, high school student days, and other recruitment activities oriented toward young adults. Expand web capabilities for better student outreach. G2. Objective 8. Market Expansion Explore the possibility of addressing new market segments including those that would be involved if the College mission were expanded.
