III. Q. 1. Central Georgia Technical College Working Hours

All permanent full-time employees will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week exclusive of time off for meals. It is the responsibility of each employee to allow adequate time for departure from residence to assure arrival on time and to notify the appropriate supervisor of late arrivals or absences from the regular work schedule. Violations, such as habitual tardiness and failure to notify the proper authority will be considered cause for disciplinary action.

The regular workday for each of the following personnel groups are as follows:

         Instructional Staff

            7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch.

            7:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch.

Administrative and Support Staff - Day Programs

            7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (1 hour lunch)

            7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (1 hour lunch)

Administrative and Support Staff - Evening Programs

            1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (1 hour dinner)

            1:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (1 hour dinner)

Other Assigned Staff As Designated By The President

Where two options are available, an individual should choose one of the options by completing a work schedule form. Once options are selected, no changes can be made without the approval of the President's Office.

Flexible scheduling and split schedules may be required for instructors in low enrollment programs and for personnel in positions with fluctuating workloads.
If an individual is required to work a flex schedule, the work schedule must be approved by the immediate supervisor and the President.

Sign In/Out and Time Sheets

CGTC is required by law to keep an accurate record of the hours worked by its employees. Each employee has a sign in /out sheet for variances and absences from their normal working hours. It is very important that each employee sign in or out when leaving the building at any time--sick or personal.

Time sheets must be submitted for all part-time and adjunct employees. It is imperative that time sheets be turned in to the appropriate supervisor's office by their deadline dates so that payroll reports may be received in to the Business Office no later than the 14th day of the month. All time sheets not turned in by the dates specified by each appropriate department will be paid on the following pay period.
Employees paid from different revenue sources may be required to submit separate time sheets, or designate hours worked on different projects.

Posting Office Hours

Instructors will provide time during the week to counsel, advise and assist students in their offices/classrooms. Office hours for these specific purposes will be posted for students.
