accessCGTC
Your Campus Portal

accessCGTC gives students, faculty and staff personalized, 24x7 access to information and services. It integrates with BannerWeb, so students are able to access traditional BannerWeb as well as experience an online environment that can be customized by every member of the campus community. It is a centralized location for email, announcements, calendaring, groups, course information, and other services.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will accessCGTC be available?

accessCGTC will be available for use beginning January 1, 2009.

How do I get to accessCGTC?

From the CGTC Homepage, click on the accessCGTC logo or navigate directly to https://accesscgtc.centralgatech.edu.

Where can I get my accessCGTC username and password?

Most existing students will be able to log into accessCGTC using their existing email username along with their current Bannerweb PIN. If you received a notice that your email address would be changing, please use the Student Secure Area to look up your new username and email address.

Example: If I was Barack Obama, how would I log in?

New students will receive their accessCGTC username and password as a part of the admissions process.

All students will be able to look up their username and password via the Student Secure Area.

Will I still be able to access my current student email account?

Yes, but for a limited time. We will not be transferring any content from our current email provider to the new system due to logistical issues. The cut-off date to access your old email account will be January 31, 2009. Until then, you will be able to access your old email account and save or forward any data you wish to keep. However, all email communications related to CGTC must be through your accessCGTC account.

Once the new email system has begun operating, your old account will no longer be able to send or receive email to or from CGTC accounts. It will be able to send to non-CGTC accounts in case you want to forward to an external account.

Will my email address change?

Probably not, however, a few email addresses will change. Beginning Winter quarter, all student email addresses will consist of a maximum of 15 characters instead of 8 and all student email addresses will end in a number. If your existing student email address does not end in a number, then it will change on the new system to include a trailing number.

How much email storage will I have?

Each student will be able to use up to 50 Mb of storage space for their email.

What is Single-Sign-On and how will it benefit me?

accessCGTC has the ability to store your login credentials (username and password) in a secure, encrypted format so that you can log into other college websites from accessCGTC with a single click - no more need to retype your username and password for each site. At first, this will apply to accessCGTC, student email and BannerWeb. In the near future, we expect to expand single-sign-on access to include a host of other sites.
