Things that May Affect Your Aid
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Federal regulations for the administration of federal student aid require all colleges to set academic standards to monitor the progress of a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). These standards are applied to all applicants and recipients of financial aid as a determination of eligibility.
To maintain SAP, students:
- Must make satisfactory progress towards graduation, and
- Must successfully complete 67% of courses attempted
Students who fail to make SAP may be declared ineligible for financial aid at Central Georgia Technical College until the deficiency has been removed. This financial aid suspension status will continue until the student improves his/her academic performance by the successful completion of at least 67% of all coursework of which the student has been enrolled at CGTC. If the student enrolls in courses during the suspension status period, the student will not receive any financial aid until the next term after the student has met the 67% completion requirement.
In accordance with Federal regulations, the student has the right to submit a written appeal. Please contact the Financial Aid office to inquire about the appeal process.
