DDF-102 Size & Shape Description I
Syllabus

Course Description:  Provides multi views and dimensioning techniques to develop views that completely describe machine parts for manufacture.  Topic include:  multi view drawing and sketching in pencil and/or ink, precision measurement, tolerances and fits, and basic dimensioning procedures and practices.

Prerequisite/Co-requisite:  DDF 101, MAT 103

All required textbooks and materials can be purchased at the Macon Tech book store.

Grading:                                                                                                                                                      

 60% of grade is determined by drawings and lab work.

 20% of grade is determined by individual presentation, appearance, & contact hours.      

 20% of grade is determined by score on final exam.  

(40% of grade is determined by score on test and final exams for web students)

                                   

                                      Standard CAD drawings will be graded in the following areas:

25 % Accuracy 90-100% = A
25 % Layout & Appearance 80-89%   = B
25% Speed 70-79%   = C
25% Amount of Assistance Required 65-69%   = D
  0-64%    = F

To obtain credit for a course, a student must complete the requirements specified in each course syllabus by the end of the quarter.  If the student fails to complete the required lab work and/or the final exam, he or she will receive a "F".

Withdrawal/Dropping Courses:  A registered student may add or drop course(s) without academic penalty through the fifth scheduled class day of the quarter.

Instructional Delivery Method:  The drafting program is an individual program of study.  A wide variety of instructional techniques and resources are used to direct student learning experiences.  Teaching methods, materials, and procedures make provisions for individual differences, needs, and capabilities.  

Dishonesty:  Any student caught in any form of dishonesty in academic or laboratory work will receive a zero (0) for that work.  The second offense will be cause for removal from class.

Conduct:  Students are expected to assume a professional attitude as reflected in their conduct, appearance, and academic performance as a part of their training.  Students are also expected to have respect for the standards of their fellow students, instructors, and other school personnel.
